Michael J.Flexer read English at Oxford. He has written plays, operas, children’s books and ghosted a biography of former Iranian President Ahmadinejad, amongst other things.
His plays include Potency and My Brother’s Keeper - on which Shalom Kabul is based. Both were produced by his theatre company, Apikoros, for the Pleasance Theatre in Islington. In 2012 his one-man show Compulsion premiered at the Brighton Festival Fringe.
He’s written new librettos for Mozart’s The Impresario and Offenbach’s Two Blind Beggars, both of which were produced by Second Movement. He is currently working on a play about assisted suicide.
Shalom Kabul is his first screenplay.
